In 2025, the Netherlands deported families with children a total of 43 times. In most cases, this was a forced deportation. Coercive measures were also used in some family deportations.
A total of 814 assisted deportations took place last year, amounting to an average of two deportations per day. In these cases, the Dutch government was involved in the departure – whether forced or voluntary under supervision – of individuals who were no longer entitled to reside in the Netherlands. Of these, 43 involved families with children. This is according to the ‘Annual Report on the Return of Foreign Nationals’ published by the Inspectorate of Justice and Security (JenV), which oversees the forced departure of individuals required to leave the country.
